Port Lincoln

Don't just come to Port Lincoln for the 2009 TRIC Conference. Treat yourself (and your family) to a few more days break and enjoy all the fun and attractions that Port Lincoln and Lower Eyre Peninsula has to offer.

The 'Seafood Capital of Australia'

With its population of 14,000, Port Lincoln is perhaps the nation's biggest combined agricultural and fishing centre and a very popular holiday destination.

The shopping is extensive with a myriad of specialty stores, galleries and quality art and craft outlets selling local products and the seafood, local lamb and beef, combined with stunning local wines, makes for a fabulous visitor experience.

Not only a beautiful township overlooking Boston Bay, Port Lincoln makes an ideal base from where to explore the coast and hinterland of the Lower Eyre Peninsula. The Peninsula is truly a crossroads of habitats in Australia. The oceans surrounding it are renown for fishing, however the mixture of gulf waters and open ocean of the Great Australian Bight means that there is a diversity of aquatic species.

Port Lincoln has proximity to 60,000 hectares of National Parks - home to a myriad of flora and fauna to see. Over 250 species of birds have also been recorded in the area.

So whether you like to relax, shop, fish, or walk through natural bushland, Port Lincoln has something for everyone. For more information about local accomodation, tours and attractions (or to make a booking) please contact the Port Lincoln Visitor Information Centre on 1300 788 378, email info@visitportlincoln.net, or visit www.visitportlincoln.net.
