Individuals representing TAFE, industry, education, regional development and broader VET sector organisations are invited to attend the 2009 TAFE in Rural and Isolated Communities (TRIC) Conference to be held from Wednesday 5 – Friday 7 August, 2009 in Port Lincoln, South Australia.
Invitation from the Chair
It gives me great pleasure as the Chair of the 2009 TRIC
Conference Organising Committee to extend an invitation to friends
and colleagues from across Australia to attend the biannual TRIC
conference.
The venue for the conference will be the recently opened
four-star Port Lincoln Hotel located on sparkling Boston Bay. The
seven storey hotel has: 111 rooms including 22 luxury suites; a
range of bars; an a la carte restaurant; conference rooms; a
fully-equipped gymnasium; an outdoor, solar-heated swimming pool;
and several gaming rooms.
This year the conference theme will be 'Navigating the waves of
change'. This theme will be explored through the sub-themes of:
- The big picture: Global 'schools' of thought
- Being regional: 'Hooking' into innovative solutions; and
- Sustainability: Balancing the 'scales'.
In addition to the formal program the conference will feature a
package of informal learning experiences and networking sessions
with a unique Port Lincoln (the 'Seafood Capital of Australia')
flavour - guaranteed to surprise and delight!
I hope that you will join us for an inspiring, thought-provoking
and fun event.
